Shiekh Rahman, the Bangladeshi origin US politician, took oath for the third time as the senator of Georgia State in the USA.
He took oath from Georgia Supreme Court Justice Charlie Bethel.
In reaction of becoming senator for the third time, Sheikh Rahman said, “Today I was swearing in to begin my third term to represent most diverse State Senate district in Georgia ny the Georgia Supreme Court Justice Honorable Charlie Bethel. I am blessed to represent such a wonderful people of Georgia. I’m asking for everyone prayers for my health and wealth being so I can serve my community, constituents and the State of Georgia the very best.”
Sheikh Rahman was born in Kishoreganj of Bangladesh. He moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia and attended Central Piedmont Community College in 1981. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1995 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
He has been serving in the Georgia State Senate from the 5th district since January 14, 2019. He is the first Muslim lawmaker in Georgia General Assembly.
Sheikh Rahman spent his childhood and teenage life in Bangladesh. After completing secondary education he moved to the US. He believes when hard work is combined with perseverance, success is the ultimate result. He visits Bangladesh time to time when he’s free.
