Riverine ports in the country have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one as a 45-60 kph speed wind is likely to occur across the country, said the weather department on Saturday.
According to the statement of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the river ports in Khulna, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Pabna, Faridpur, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh and Sylhet areas have been asked to hoist cautionary signal no. one.
Confirming the signal, meteorologist Khondaker Hafizur Rahman said the warning will be valid will 6 pm Saturday.
The axis of monsoon extends over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam, he added.
