The High Court (HC) on Monday said the authorities concerned should keep the doors of the offices of deputy commissioners (DCs) open for mass people.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice AKM Rabiul Hassan came up with the observation while holding hearing on a contempt of court case, reports BSS.
Four concerned persons including Kushtia DC and superintendant of police were present at the courtroom during the hearing.
The court on Monday exempted Kushtia DC from personal appearance during the hearing, but asked all others to appear before it again on October 24 for further hearing.
"We had filed a writ petition challenging the process of auctioning a property in Kushtia. The High Court had stayed the auction process. But in spite of the court order, the buyer took the property into his custody, making us to file the contempt of court case," Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury, who moved the plea filed in this regard, told to the media.
