U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from March 10 to 12 for high-level talks aimed at advancing diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Rubio will meet with Ukrainian counterparts to discuss strategies for resolving the conflict, in line with President Donald Trump’s foreign policy objectives, said a statement.
While in Jeddah, Rubio will also hold talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on regional stability and the U.S.-Saudi relationship. Discussions may explore potential Saudi involvement in mediation efforts and broader diplomatic solutions to de-escalate the war.
Following his visit to Saudi Arabia, Rubio will travel to Charlevoix, Canada, from March 12 to 14 for the G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting. There, he will engage with global leaders on security and peace initiatives, with a particular focus on the war in Ukraine and its global impact.
