The Makkah Halal Forum 2025 officially began in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, welcoming participants from across the globe, including Turkey, reads a DS report.
Themed "Sustainable Development Through the Halal," the second edition of the forum runs from February 25 to 27 at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s conference and exhibition center. During the opening session, speakers discussed ways to enhance production supporting sustainable halal practices, foster collaboration, and promote sustainability to protect the environment and reduce pollution, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The forum provides a platform for companies to showcase their products to investors and consumers through interactive exhibitions, specialized workshops, and live halal cooking demonstrations, offering unique opportunities to engage with target markets.
Additionally, the event includes expert panels on halal standards, advanced manufacturing technologies, and the future of Islamic finance, alongside workshops to help businesses meet global regulations.
This year’s forum features over 150 exhibitors from 15 countries, including Turkey, aiming to strengthen trade collaboration and expand global partnerships. Turkey’s participation highlights its significant role in the halal market and its commitment to enhancing trade and investment ties with Islamic nations and global markets.
Turkish companies are using the forum to showcase their expertise in halal food, cosmetics, and Islamic finance, driving industry growth and expanding trade opportunities worldwide. Major halal accreditation bodies, including the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), are also involved in the forum. Turkey plays a key role in the Istanbul-based institute, contributing to harmonizing halal standards and facilitating cross-border trade.
