With over a 100 results announced for the National Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-affiliated independent are in the lead, reports Al Jazeera.
With a total of 107 seats counted, the independents have bagged 42, followed closely by (Pakistan Muslim League (N)) who have won 34.
However, PMLN is expected to pick up the pace as results from most constituencies in Punjab – the country’s largest province and a PML-N stronghold – are still pending. The province has 141 seats, more than 50 percent of all national assembly seats.
