CEMS-Global international expos begin at ICCB

A series of international exhibitions covering food, agriculture, poultry, livestock, medical technology, and health tourism began on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, bringing together global industry stakeholders under one platform.

Organized by CEMS-Global USA in association with CEMS Bangladesh, the three-day exhibitions will continue until May 9 and remain open to visitors daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

The inauguration ceremony was held at Hall 4 of ICCB on Thursday and was presided over by Meherun N. Islam, president and group managing director of CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific. Among the guests of honor were Md. Firoz Uddin, additional secretary of the Ministry of Industries; Dr. Salma laizoo, Director, Department of Agriculture Extension, Ministry of Agriculture; Md. Mohsin, joint secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Mst. Nargis Murshida, joint secretary of the Ministry of Commerce; Gazi AKM Fazlul Haque, director general of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA); and Mirza Shajib Raihan, executive committee member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham).

Food, Agro, Poultry, and Food Packaging-related expo exhibitions feature over 100 companies from more than 15 countries, including Bangladesh, India, China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Vietnam, Brazil, Thailand, Switzerland, Japan, Malaysia, and the UAE, with more than 160 booths. A special highlight of the Food Bangladesh International Expo 2026 is Coffee Fest, being held for the third time. The event features coffee products, beans, machinery, and technology displays.

Prominent participants at the Agro & Food Expo include Akij Agro & Livestock Ltd., Nabil Group of Industries, MH Dhanmondi Ltd., Trade Global Ltd., Thakral Information Systems Pvt. Ltd. (DJI), and the Embassy of Brazil in Bangladesh, representing the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).

Meanwhile, the Food Expo will host notable brands such as Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, Le Bourne, Shilaidaha Dairy - Ultra, Modhumoti Agro & Dairy Firm, Runcha, Puro Foods Ltd., Paragon International, Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh and Kiva Han. The Embassy of Pakistan in Bangladesh, representing the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), is participating in the Pakistan Pavilion.

The Meditex and Health Tourism Expo features a wide range of products and services, including medical equipment, surgical instruments, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic devices, hospital supplies, and health tourism services. More than 90 companies and hospitals representing over 15 countries - including India, Pakistan, China, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the UAE, Nepal, Singapore, Türkiye, South Korea, Morocco, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bangladesh - will participate, featuring over 150 exhibitors across approximately 150 booths.

Notable participants include the CFC-SIBL Reproductive Health Initiative, Healthcare Diagnostic Solutions, BTL Medical Devices Bangladesh Ltd., Medipack Technologies Ltd., and Alive Healthcare among others. In the health tourism segment, the Embassy of Indonesia in Bangladesh is representing the Indonesia Pavilion.

Alongside the exhibitions, CEMS-Global has arranged a total of six specialized seminars across the Argo, poultry, livestock and healthcare sectors, aimed at promoting knowledge exchange, strengthening international collaboration and supporting sustainable development, scheduled to be held in different times from May 7 to May 9. .

Earlier, as part of the Agro Bangladesh International Expo, a week-long ‘Agro Processing Global Gateway’ programme was held across Chattogram, Khulna, and Rajshahi in April, connecting local producers with international buyers and facilitating export opportunities for Bangladeshi agro and food products. A delegation of buyers from France, India, and Sri Lanka participated in the programme. The initiative was jointly organized by CEMS-Global and Swisscontact’s BYETS Project, with special support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh. It also facilitated purchase orders for Bangladeshi agricultural and food products.
