Prices of chicken, fish, and some vegetables increased in Dhaka's kitchen markets on Monday, despite the government's repeated assurances of price stability during Ramadan.
Lemon and cucumber prices remained high, unchanged from the previous day. Meanwhile, chicken and mutton prices edged up, though beef prices stayed stable.
Traders at Karwan Bazar, the capital’s largest vegetable hub, attributed the rising costs to increased demand during Ramadan, despite an adequate supply of most items.
