A baby girl who was abducted during a robbery in Azimpur, Dhaka, has been rescued by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) within 24 hours of the crime. The suspect was arrested, and the child was found in the Mohammadpur area of the capital, RAB confirmed on Saturday.
A press briefing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at RAB's media center in Karwan Bazar, where Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous, director of the agency's law and media wing, will provide further details.
Earlier, a group of robbers on Friday morning looted cash and jewellery, and also kidnapped an 8-month old child from a medical staff quarter in Azimpur in the capital.
Police claimed Farzana Akter, an employee at the home ministry, lives in the government residence with her husband and missing child. Robbers took Tk1.5 lakh cash, four bhori gold and Farzana’s daughter in the morning raid.
