The metro rail authority has started taking preparations for operating the train on Fridays, said MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) on Monday.
At present, metro rail operates six days a week, excluding Friday, but soon it would start operating every day. On Fridays, overhead railway network would likely operate from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and avoid morning operations on the day due to potential low passenger pressure.
DMTCL has already talked with the relevant advisor of the interim government in this regard, and would start Friday operations very soon.
It has already ordered its staff for preparing worker schedules on Friday.
MAN Siddique said the Friday train schedule would be announced within a few days.
