A clash between the anti-quota protesters of the private Brac University and police started in the capital’s Merul Badda on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses said demonstrators blocked the Pragati Sarani as part of the 'complete shutdown' announced by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement around 10:30 am leaving the traffic movement at a halt.
At one stage, police fired rubber bullets and teargas shells around the Brac University campus to disperse the protesters, leaving several students injured.
Anti-quota demonstrators are enforcing a ‘complete shutdown’ across the country on Thursday.
