As per the pre-announcement by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam, 100 per cent of the sacrificial animal waste was removed within six hours by 8:00 pm on Monday.
"With the cooperation of all, it has been possible to remove sacrificial animal waste within six hours in Dhaka North City Corporation. We have been able to do that due to the cooperation of conscious citizens," said Mayor Atiqul Islam.
Atiqul extended his thanks to the citizens and expressed hope that the city corporation would continue to work together to keep the city clean.
Meanwhile, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) also managed to remove 100 per cent of the sacrificial animal waste in 64 of its 75 wards by 8 PM.
The wards where the waste was successfully removed include 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19-41, 43-59, 61, 63-66, and 68-75.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam and DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh inaugurated the waste removal works around 2:00 pm on Monday.
