Fire at Purana Paltan building under control

A fire that broke out on Wednesday evening at a high-rise building in capital’s Purana Paltan area has been brought under control.

The blaze originated on the fourth floor of the 15-storey "Finance Tower" on Kalvert Road around 6:48 pm, informed Rozina Akhter, a duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room. 

On information, five firefighting units rushed to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control at around 7:26 pm.

There were no reports of casualties.
