Customs preventive team recovered 204 gold bars measuring 23.600kg from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Mokaddis Hossain confirmed the seizure of gold bars.
According to sources, the BG-122 flight of Biman Bangladesh hailed from Muscat to Dhaka via Chattogram and landed at the airport at 11:25 am.
Tipped off, a team of customs encircled the aircraft on the runway and recovered the gold bars from the cargo hole.
The estimated value of the seized gold is Tk 25 crore.
