The residents of the capital Dhaka experienced the hottest day since 1965 on Saturday.
Meteorologist Bazlur Rashid at Bangladesh Meteorological Department confirmed the matter to the media.
He said the highest temperature recorded in the capital on Saturday was 40.4 degrees Celsius. In 1965, the highest 42 degrees Celsius temperature was recorded in Dhaka.
Earlier on Friday, Bangladesh Meteorological Department recorded 40.2 degrees Celsius which was the highest in the last nine years.
On the other hand, the country’s highest temperature was recorded in Chuadanga. The western district experienced 42.2 degrees Celsius temperature on Saturday.
