Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Saturday called upon the world community to recognise March 25 as International Genocide Day.
He made the call at a discussion at the Liberation War Museum in the capital’s Agargaon marking ‘Genocide Day’.
Awami League Presidium Member Shahjahan Khan presided over the discussion while State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahrier Alam and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, among others, spoke.
Speakers said Pakistani military occupation forces killed around 35,000 Bangladeshi people on March 25 of 1971, which is rare in world history.
