Foreign Secretary of India Vinay Kwatra arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday evening to pay an official visit to Bangladesh on February 15-16 2023 at the invitation of the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, Masud Bin Momen.
On his arrival at the Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen warmly received him, reports Daily Sun.
During the visit, both Foreign Secretaries will hold Foreign Office Consultation, which will review the entire range of bilateral relationship including political and security, water, trade and investment, power and energy, defence, connectivity and sub-regional cooperation.
This is Kwatra’s first visit to Bangladesh since he took charge as India foreign secretary on May 1, 2022.
Apart from holding the Foreign Secretary level FOC, the Indian Foreign Secretary will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.
The visit to Bangladesh is keeping in line with the highest priority accorded to India’s ‘Neighborhood First’ Policy, said the High Commission of India (HCI) in Dhaka.
Bangladesh is India’s top-most development partner and its largest trade partner in the region.
