Awami League leaders have paid rich tribute to Freedom fighter, lawmaker and Chattogram south district Awami League president Moslem Uddin Ahmed.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader paid tribute to Moslem Uddin Ahmed in front of Awami League’s central office in the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue in the morning on behalf of party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.
He later paid homage to Muslem Uddin on behalf of the party along with the other leaders.
Awami League Presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Joint General Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Organising Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Whip Shamsul Alam Chowdhury, and Atiqul Islam Atiq, among others, were present at that time.
Later, a rich tribute was paid on behalf of Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku.
Earlier in the morning, the first namaz-e-janaza of Moslem Uddin Ahmed was held in front of Awami League’s central office.
After the janaza, Awami League leaders said Muslem Uddin became a leader from an activist through his dedication and hard work and loyalty to the party which might be followed by others.
