An e-ticketing system in the city’s bus service will be launched in September to reduce harassment of the passengers over fares and ensure fair fares.
Primarily, the test run will be operated at buses of five companies. These buses are – Prajapati Paribahan, Paristhan Paribahan, Achhim Paribahan, Noor-e-Makka Paribahan, and Bashumati Paribahan.
An agreement between Dhaka Road Transport Owners and Jatri Services Limited was signed on Thursday in this regard.
Dhaka Road Transport Owners general secretary Khandoker Enayetullah initiated the e-ticketing system.
The test run will be introduced on September 20. The system will be launched on all buses in the capital in phases.
