BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has questioned the electricity capacity of the government as the country has been experiencing severe load shedding for the last few days.
“The government has celebrated power production of 11,760 megawatts on July 10. But load shedding is everywhere now. Why load shedding is happening,” he questioned.
Fakhrul came up with the observation at a press conference at BNP Chairperson’s political office in the capital’s Gulshan on Saturday.
Terming importing electricity from India as illogical despite over domestic capacity, the BNP senior leader said the government had made an indemnity act for looting purposes by setting up power stations across the country.
BNP will bring them (Money looters) to the book if it assumes power in the future, he warned.
Mirza Fakhrul also urged the government to quit taking responsibility for its future to control the prices of daily essentials.
