Four maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No-3 as low formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal, said the weather department in its bulletin for 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
According to the met office, the well-marked low over Northwest Bay off Odisha-West Bengal coast lies over Northwest Bay of Odisha coast and adjoining areas.
It is likely to intensify further. Under its influence squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, it added.
