Detectives in a drive arrested six suspected robbers along with hand cuff and fake DB jackets from Toyenbee Circular Road in the capital, said police.
The arrestees are Farid Uddin, 50, Parvez, 35, Saiful Islam alias Nadim, 30, Shafiqul Islam alias Babul, 50, Jashim 34 and Md Nasir, 38.
Tipped off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them on Sunday night, said a press release of DB, reports UNB.
Police also seized a microbus, three fake one handcuff, three DB jackets, three toy pistols, one toy walki-talki, five cheque books and a sticker of police.
After primary interrogation it was known that the robbers in guise of customers used to follow customers at banks.
They used to target innocent people dealing with big amount of money and informed their associates about the targeted person who in guise of DB police wait for the person at a designated place.
At one stage, they used to pick up the person and loot money and other belongings and throw him in an abandoned place from the microbus, said Rab.
Police filed a complaint against the arrestees with Motijheel Police Station.
