Bangladesh heaved a sigh of relief as their premier fast bowler Shoriful Islam on Sunday returned to practice following his thumb injury that he sustained during their warm-up game against India.
Shoriful received six stitches on his left hand after sustaining an injury that ruled him out from the opening two games of their campaign respectively against Sri Lanka and South Africa, Daily Sun reported.
The left-arm pacer bowled in the nets in New York on Sunday ahead of their second game against South Africa and according to their head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, the left-arm pacer is expected to feature sooner than later.
“Shoriful is bowling today and he was also asked to field a little bit and bowl. He is okay to bowl, his bowling (without any strapping today….). I am hoping that after today (second game), he is available for selection,” Hathurusingha said ahead of the South Africa game.
