Bangladesh women's football team suffered a 4-0 goal defeat to upper ranked Chinese Taipei in the first match of the two-match FIFA Women's International Football Series (Tier-1) held at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on Friday.
The visitors, who are 100 places ahead of Bangladesh in FIFA Ranking, dominated the match and earned a facile victory, reports BSS.
Taking 3-0 lead at the first half, the visiting team added one more goal in the second half to seal the victory. Sabina and co., who has been practicing on the turf round the year, came down to play on the grass field and helplessly surrendered to the Chinese Taipei in one word.
Bangladesh has never played any match against Chinese Taipei before.
Bangladesh's debut against the new opponent was not pleasant. The local crowds expected a little bit better performance from the Bangladeshi girls who finished the league a few days ago.
In the 62nd minute, Bangladesh got a scoring opportunity for the first time but Monika Chakma's shot from the left went out of play after hitting the cross bar.
The second and ultimate match between the two sides will be held on June 3 at the same venue.
