Bangladesh clinched the five-match T20I series beating visiting Zimbabwe by 9 runs in the third match of the series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Tuesday.
Batting first, Bangladesh scored 165/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe scored 156/9 in 20 overs. Number 10 batter Faraz Akram 34 off 19, was the top scorer for the side while opener Tadiwanashe Marumani made 31 off 26 balls, and Johnathan Campbell 21 off 10 balls.
For Bangladesh, Mohammad Saifuddin took 3 wickets and Rishad Hossain picked up 2 wickets while Tanvir Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mahmudullah took one wicket each.
Earlier, Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali Anik provided a brilliant partnership to guide Bangladesh put a challenging total of 165 runs for 5 wickets on the board against Zimbabwe in the third game of the five-match T20 series.
The duo added 87 runs together in the fourth wicket, reforming the innings to post such a good score after losing five wickets after the top order failed to build the innings at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Towhid departed for 57 off 38 hitting two sixes and three fours while Jaker went out on 44 from 34 balls with two sixes and three fours.
Blessing Muzarabani was the top of the bowlers for Zimbabwe as he bagged three wickets conceding just 14 runs in four overs. Faraz Khan and Sikandar Raza got one wicket apiece.
