Musfik Hasan, the young fast bowler of Comilla Victorians, conceded most runs in a match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) history as he gave 72 runs in 4 overs against Rangpur Riders in the first Qualifier on Monday evening at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
He created the unwanted record after giving away 28 runs in the last over as James Neesham hit him all corner of the park. Neesham alone took 26 runs while the rest of two runs came from no and a bye, reports BSS.
The New Zealand player Neesham however was on the verge of the century as he needed just three runs in the last ball to complete to what could have been his maiden T20 ton but he was denied as Musfik finally was able to hit the correct line in the last delivery.
However still he registered the worst figure in the tournament's history, eclipsing the unwanted record of pacer Al-Amin Hossain. Chattogram Challengers' Al-Amin Hossain conceded 69 runs in four overs and went wicketless in his side's match against Comilla Victorians at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in this BPL.
Al-Amin however broke the worst bowling figure record of Nasir Hossain, who, as part of Chattogram Challengers team had figures of 4-0-60-2 against Dhaka Platoon in 2019 BPL, also at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Mohammedan's Qazi Anik had figures of 4-0-62-1 during a Dhaka Premier League T20 match against Shinepukur at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in 2019.
In International Cricket, Rubel Hossain and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza were the part two worst bowling figures for Bangladesh as both of them conceded 63 runs.
Rubel had figures of 4-0-63-2 against West Indies in Mirpur in 2012 while Mashrafe's figure read 4-0-63-0 against Pakistan, also in Mirpur in 2014.
