Visiting Indian One Day International (ODI) captain Rohit Sharma hoped that more Bangladeshi players will get a chance to play in the much-expected Indian Premier League (IPL).
“I hope they (Bangladeshi cricketers) will get a chance in the IPL because they are standard cricketers. They can make a difference in the IPL teams.”
Rohit made the remarks while speaking at the pre-match press conference in Mirpur Sher-e Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.
The Indian skipper said he thinks more Bangladeshi players should get a chance in the IPL.
Six Bangladeshi cricketers have registered their names for the 2023 IPL.
They are Sakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Litton Das, Shariful Islam, Afif Hossain, and Nasum Ahmed.
IPL authority published the names of the registered cricketers on Thursday and a total of 991 players made their registration. Among these 991 cricketers, 277 are foreign players and 714 are Indian cricketers.
Bangladeshi pacer Mostafizur Rahman doesn’t register his name as he was retained by his team Delhi Capitals.
The auction for the 2023 IPL will be held in India’s Kochi on 23 December.
