Puja Cherry, a popular actress in Dhaka cinema, has already won the hearts of audiences with dozens of films. She is currently busy with her work. Despite this, there is no end to the rumors surrounding her personal life. However, she has clarified that marriage is not on her mind right now.
Puja Cherry said, "I want to focus on settling myself first and stay busy with movies. Marriage can wait until I've come a long way, as getting married too soon might hold me back."
She shared this while speaking with the media about her career and personal life during the Spring Festival in Malaysia, where she is currently in Kuala Lumpur attending an event hosted by a Bangladeshi satellite channel.
Puja shared, "As a child, I mimicked movie dialogues in front of the mirror, and my parents believed I'd become something. No one knew back then I'd join films. I began as a child artist and now I'm a heroine."
Regarding becoming a lead actress in films, she said, "Every project I have done is very dear to me. But if I had to highlight one, I would talk about Poramon-2. When it was announced that I would be the heroine in Poramon-2, people had doubts—she is still a child artist, can she act as a heroine? Can she perform in a romantic role? Then, Abdul Aziz of Jaaz Multimedia said that since there was a delay in Poramon-2's production, we could do another movie with her. That film was Noor Jahaan, a joint production directed by Raj Chakraborty from India. This was the film that marked the beginning of my journey as a lead actress."
Puja further said, "At the premiere of Noor Jahaan, I was scared—would the audience accept me as a heroine? But after the show, I saw that everyone praised me and accepted me as a heroine. I succeeded because of everyone’s love and blessings."
"As a heroine, I have had 10-12 films released, and a few more are awaiting release, such as Nakful and Masud Rana. Also, there is a big surprise coming soon, which will be announced to all of you," she added.
Puja expressed to expatriate Bangladeshis, "Whenever I meet a Bengali abroad, it feels like discovering a part of Bangladesh. In Malaysia, I found that connection, which is why I’m here. I encourage everyone to cherish Bangladesh deeply, as it is our homeland, and we must honor its dignity in all our actions."
