Vikrant Massey is popular '12th fail' movie's indian actor ,no stranger to taking on challenging roles, but his latest project, ‘The Sabarmati Report’, based on the controversial Gujarat Godhra incident, has brought an unexpected set of challenges.
At the recent trailer launch of the film, the actor revealed that he had received threats related to his portrayal of a journalist investigating the tragic event. Despite the tense atmosphere surrounding the film, Massey remained unfazed, emphasizing his role as an artist, reports the statesman.
“Yes, I have received threats, and more may come,” said Massey during the event in Mumbai. “But, as artists, we tell stories. This film is based on facts, and it’s something we, as a team, are handling together. We will manage it the way it needs to be managed.”
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna,‘The Sabarmati Report’ aims to delve into the complexities of the Godhra incident, a turning point in modern Indian history that remains a sensitive subject. Massey plays the role of a journalist determined to uncover the truth behind the event, while the film also stars Raashii Khanna and Riddhi Dogra in pivotal roles.
Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan, the film is set to be a gripping drama thriller that highlights the political and social ramifications of the incident.
