Bappa Mazumder, the versatile artiste is now coming up with a classical album titled “Onubhob: Bangla Songs in the Ghazal Style”.
He is exploring his love for Bangla Ghazal in the album.
About his album ‘Onubhob’, Bappa Mazumder said, “It was my long-cherish desire that I will lend my voice to ghazals. After about eight years of planning, I'm finally coming up with a project titled ‘Onubhob: Bangla Songs in the Ghazal Style’.”
According to Bappa Mazumder, alongside new generation singers, the legendary Runa Laila has also agreed to sing in the album. Bappa himself will lend his voice to the project. Through which he will present a bunch of original Bengali songs of the ghazal genre.
Bappa Mazumder revealed this information in an Adda (Chit-Chatting) at a restaurant in the capital on Sunday. He also introduced one of his lyricists in this project, Ghalib Hasan, who will write all the songs of the album. Bappa Mazumder will be the composer and global distributor of the songs.
Music videos of two songs from the “Onubhob” project were also shown on the projector at the programme. Both were sung by Bappa Mazumder.
Through these two songs, Bappa seemed to spread a sweet atmosphere in the audience. It did not end there, after the video songs, a live song was also performed under the leadership of Bappa. Apart from Bappa, Tanvir Alam Sajeeb, Konal, and Tina Russell performed at the “adda”. Everyone sang their favourite old songs.
It may be mentioned that the videos of the two songs released from the “Onubhob” project were made by Saikat Reza. The songs were released on almost all domestic and foreign video and audio streaming platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and Spotify on Sunday night.
