India's cherished comedian Kapil Sharma, while at the height of his success, has also faced his share of difficulties.

Known as one of the highest-earning stars on television, Kapil’s journey has not been as smooth as it appears, reports UNB.

At one point, the renowned comedian found himself bankrupt, a struggle he recently opened up about in an interview.

For over a decade, Kapil Sharma has entertained millions across the country, becoming a household name through his popular comedy show.

Currently, the latest version of his show is setting new records on a top-tier Indian OTT platform.

Yet, even someone of Kapil’s stature has faced significant financial struggles.

During the interview, he revealed that his foray into film production proved to be a financial disaster, one that drained his resources and left him devastated.

In 2017, Kapil had produced two films: the Hindi movie Firangi and the Punjabi film Son of Manjeet Singh. Both movies, unfortunately, performed poorly at the box office.

Reflecting on this period, Kapil admitted, “I was simply reckless. I had a lot of money on hand, so I decided to produce two films. But money alone doesn’t make you a producer.”

Kapil explained that a producer’s mindset requires a different approach. “I mismanaged a huge amount of money,” he confessed, “and eventually, my bank balance hit rock bottom.” This phase was so challenging that it led Kapil into a period of depression.

He credits his wife, Ginni, for supporting him through this difficult time, helping him overcome his struggles.

Looking at Kapil’s lavish lifestyle today, it’s hard to imagine his modest beginnings. He recalls arriving in Mumbai with only 1,200 rupees in his pocket.

Since then, he has steadily risen in the entertainment world, relying on his talent in comedy to turn his life around. Today, he stands as one of the wealthiest stars in Indian television. Reports indicate that his net worth has surpassed a remarkable Rs 300 crore.

Through these ups and downs, Kapil Sharma’s story is a reminder of the unpredictable path to success and the challenges that even the most celebrated stars can face
