Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s first film, "Hawa," which featured Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, and Sariful Razz, was released in 2022 and earned both critical acclaim and commercial success. Two years after its release, Sumon started shooting his next film, "Roid," starring Mostafizur Noor Imran and Nazifa Tushi.
According to several sources, a large part of the filming wrapped up on Friday, October 18, in Sreemangal.
Sumon announced the production of the film three years ago. “Roid” received a government grant in FY 2020-21, produced by Jaya Ahsan.
Jaya received a government grant of 60 lakh taka for the production of the movie. However, she returned the grant earlier this year as she could not start the film on time. Earlier Jaya said to a local media that the film’s production process is getting delayed due to various reasons. That’s why she returned the money.
Sumon said that “Roid” will be produced in the new arrangement. But the producer of the movie has changed. Now the new producer of the movie is Bengal Creations.
However, associates of the film do not want to make any comments before the shooting of the movie is over.
