State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam has said that the current government is giving importance to UN peacekeeping missions in its foreign policy.
She said this at a discussion on the contribution of Bangladeshi peacekeepers to world peacekeeping organized by the Defense Journalists Association of Bangladesh-DJAB at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on Monday afternoon.
Paying respect to the families of the members who participated in the peacekeeping mission, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs said, "I personally salute them. I also salute them on behalf of the government of Bangladesh. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is always working on the issue."
Assuring that they will continue to work for peacekeepers in the future, Shama Obaid Islam said, "If you come to us with any need, we will take it seriously and cooperate with you."
