Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has said his ministry worked with utmost sincerity to ensure services and welfare for Hajj pilgrims this year.
He said that throughout the entire Hajj period, he tried to serve not as a minister but as an aide of the pilgrims.
“The Prime Minister assigned me the responsibility of serving as an ‘aide’ of the pilgrims. I have tried my best to fulfill that responsibility,” he said.
He made the remarks at a post-Hajj press conference in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday night after the completion of the Hajj rituals.
The minister said this year’s Hajj management was successfully completed by the grace of Almighty Allah.
He added that the success was the result of the combined efforts of the ministry, Hajj office, medical teams, administrative officials, Hajj Association of Bangladesh leaders and all concerned.
However, he said the greatest contribution came from Almighty Allah.
He further said that during the Hajj period, issues related to pilgrims’ problems, accommodation, medical care and overall services were regularly monitored. All concerned worked sincerely to ensure that Bangladeshi pilgrims could perform Hajj smoothly.
Praising Saudi Arabia’s Hajj management, he said this year’s Hajj was completed in a very disciplined and well-organized manner. He added that the Saudi government and relevant authorities deserve appreciation for this.
