There is no scope for increasing the price of air tickets by syndicating or group-based bookings for the holy Hajj and Umrah, said Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain, the interim government's religious advisor.
He made these remarks at the inauguration of the Cox's Bazar District Model Mosque and Cultural Center on Friday afternoon.
The religious advisor said, “News of mismanagement and syndication of air tickets has been seen in the newspapers. For this, a policy has been made in collaboration with the advisors of the Law Ministry, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare, the Chief Advisor and other ministries. Now, when booking a ticket, you will have to give your passport number. When you go to book a ticket, you will have to give the passport number of the passenger concerned and if he does not buy the ticket within three days, it will be canceled.”
Stating that there were some irregularities in the site selection of mosques in the past, he said, “The construction work of 350 model mosques has already been completed. 214 more will be built. The mosques that will be built during the interim government will be built where mosques are needed, by conducting proper site selection, feasibility studies, and digital surveys by the Public Works Department.”
