Bangladesh's Attorney general Md. Asaduzzaman has pledged that the country will not allow fascists to take refuge within its borders. He emphasized that this commitment is non-negotiable.
Speaking as the chief guest at an Iftar party organized by the civic society at Kabirpur Secondary School in Shailkupa, Jhenaidah, on Friday afternoon, Asaduzzaman also made strong remarks about the political landscape. He stated, “We will not allow anyone to establish the rule of vote robbery, whether it occurs in broad daylight or at night. This is also our commitment.”
The Attorney general reflected on the Awami League's internal politics, noting that many leaders and activists of the party had been deprived of their rightful share over the last 16 years. He pointed out that while the Sheikh family amassed vast wealth, amounting to thousands of crores of taka, they realized by August 5 that they could no longer ensure their safety in Bangladesh. Following this, they fled the country with their families, leaving behind party leaders and workers to face uncertainty.
“For the first time in Bangladesh, a prime minister fled with their family, abandoning their leaders and workers in danger,” Asaduzzaman stated.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including former principal of Shailkupa Government Degree College Abdul Majeed, Upazila BNP President Abul Hossain, General Secretary Humayun Babar Feroze, and other respected individuals from various walks of life.
