The iconic Twitter bird logo, once displayed at the company's former headquarters in San Francisco, has sold for nearly $34,000 at an auction. The sign was removed after Elon Musk took over the social media platform and rebranded it to X.
According to RR Auction, a company specializing in rare collectibles, the 560-pound (254-kilogram) sign, measuring 12 feet by 9 feet (3.7 meters by 2.7 meters), fetched $34,375. The buyer's identity was not disclosed.
This auction is part of a broader trend, as Musk has previously sold various items from Twitter’s former headquarters, including signs, memorabilia, kitchen equipment, and office furniture.
Among other tech history items that made headlines in the auction, a first-generation Apple-1 computer with accessories sold for $375,000, an Apple Computer Co. check signed by Steve Jobs in 1976 went for $112,054, and a sealed first-generation 4GB iPhone fetched $87,514.
