Elon Musk has alleged that a coordinated conspiracy is working to kill him and damage Tesla, claiming his efforts to cut US government waste have made him a target. He blames left-wing activists for recent attacks on Tesla cars and dealerships, including vandalism and arson.
Musk, an adviser to US President Donald Trump, has played a key role in slashing federal budgets and reducing government staff through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). While critics accuse him of pushing extreme austerity, supporters argue his actions are necessary to curb corruption and reckless spending.
The backlash has intensified in recent weeks, with protests and attacks on Tesla properties. A Molotov cocktail attack on a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas left at least five vehicles damaged. Speaking to Fox News on Monday, Musk called the attacks “deranged” and suggested they are part of a larger scheme.
“They basically want to kill me because I’m stopping their fraud, and they want to hurt Tesla because we’re stopping the terrible waste and corruption in the government,” Musk told the outlet. He also questioned who might be funding and coordinating the violence.
Despite the threats, Musk insists the backlash proves his policies are working, arguing that the intensity of opposition shows they are disrupting entrenched interests.
Anti-Musk protests continue across the US, with demonstrators condemning Tesla’s ties to the Trump administration. Some activists have taken extreme measures, including targeting Tesla owners. A recent online campaign linked to the “DogeQuest” group reportedly created an interactive doxing map, exposing the addresses of Tesla owners and urging activists to spray-paint their vehicles.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi has denounced the escalating violence, calling the attacks on Tesla “domestic terrorism.” She vowed to prosecute those responsible and warned that further attacks could result in federal charges.
