BNP joint secretary general Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said, "If Awami League has to be banned, it must be banned by speeding up the judicial process. Not only Hasina alone, but also her family, ministers-MPs, those who were involved in misrule at the district, upazila and ward levels and their associates must be brought under trial. Only then will Awami League be banned.”
He said this at a prayer and iftar mahfil organized by Mandari Union BNP at Mandari Bahumukhi High School in Laxmipur Sadar Upazila on Friday.
Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie also said, “There was a need complete all these trials within three months. If the trials were held, then the talk of banning Awami League would not have come up repeatedly. Seven months have passed and the trial of Hasina and her family has not started. This is very sad and painful for those of us who have been fighting in the movement.”
