BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said elections within a short time is necessary to deal with the current crisis.
“Everyone should act responsibly to pave the way for democracy,” he said.
He said this at the BNP's Iftar Mahfil program in honor of professionals and prominent citizens at the Ladies Club in the capital on Friday.
The BNP secretary general said, “All problems should be solved realistically, not through emotions. We will not take any step that will lead us in the wrong direction.”
He said that despite being exiled due to various cases and problems, the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman will return to the country very soon.
