Mahfuj Alam, adviser to the interim government, said that anti-Bangladesh groups, Awami League and fascists would not be allowed to participate in the next parliamentary elections.
Mentioning that the election will be held among pro-Bangladeshi groups, Mahfuj said BNP-Jamaat and other pro-Bangladesh groups can participate in the polls and reside in the country. They will build a non-discriminatory ruling system through a fair and competitive electoral process.
He came up with the observation while exchanging views with the students and people in Hajiganj bazar of Chandpur on his way to attend a mass reception at Ramganj College ground on Saturday afternoon.
The interim government has priority to ensure trial of the killings, enforced disappearances, and rapes, make necessary reformations and hold a fair and participatory election which was absent in the past 16 years, added the adviser.
