The International Crimes Tribunal has ordered BTRC-NTMC to separately preserve data, details, information and relevant documents related to the massacres committed during the anti-discrimination student movement and anti-fascist protest in July-August.
At the same time, the court has ordered mobile operators and internet service providers to cooperate with the investigation agency in the interest of a comprehensive investigation into the massacre.
A three-member International Crimes Tribunal led by Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder passed the order on Thursday,.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam was in favor of the application in the court and he confirmed the order.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam told journalists that the investigation and prosecution team of the tribunal can call any person and ask for any information for the sake of investigating the case. This power is given in the Tribunal Act.
“We applied on two separate issues. After hearing our application, the International Crimes Tribunal has given specific instructions to all mobile phone operator companies and BTRC to assist in the investigation,” he added.
