Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Akhtar Ahmed said that preparation is underway to hold the next parliamentary election as per the roadmap announced by the Chief Adviser.
He spoke to the media after meeting with UNDP representatives at the election commission office in the capital’s Agargaon on Tuesday.
The Election Commission (EC) secretary said the UNDP will provide technical assistance in the election, including preparing a voter list. In this case, the UNDP will provide a list of assistance within the next 10 days.
The five-member UNDP delegation sat in the meeting at 11:00 am. The matter of assistance demanded by the EC was discussed in the meeting.
It is mentionable that, Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus earlier said it may be possible to hold the next national election at the end of 2025 or the first half of 2026.
