Mujibur Rahman Monju has been elected Chairman of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, with Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuaad chosen as General Secretary.
The announcement came during the party's inaugural national council at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday.
Voting for the Chairman's post was held on Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the same venue, with delegates from across the country casting their votes both in person and online.
Three candidates vied for the position: founding convener AFM Solaiman Chowdhury, founding member secretary Mujibur Rahman Monju, and joint convener Colonel (Retd.) Didarul Alam.
