The interim government has extended the term of the Electoral Reform Commission.
A notification signed by cabinet secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid was issued on Thursday in this regard by the order of the President. According to the notification, the term of the Electoral Reform Commission has been extended until January 15.
Earlier, the Electoral Reform Commission was formed on October 3. Meanwhile, the proposals of the six reform commissions formed were supposed to be submitted by December 31, but none of them have been submitted. According to the Cabinet Division, all six reform commissions have extended the time.
In his address to the nation on September 11, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus announced the formation of six reform commissions. These are: Electoral Reform Commission, Police Administration Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission and Constitutional Reform Commission.
