Chuadanga recorded the lowest temperature in Bangladesh this morning (Jan 2), with a reading of 9.8°C, as the region experienced a mild cold wave.
The sharp drop in temperature, combined with chilly northern winds, has significantly impacted daily life, particularly affecting laborers and homeless individuals.
Zahidul Islam, a meteorologist at the Chuadanga Weather Office, said that the cold intensified overnight, accompanied by dense fog and icy winds.
"The fog is so thick it feels like drizzling. The temperature dropped by 2°C in just one day," he added, noting that humidity levels have reached 95%.
The district administration advised residents to take precautionary measures against the extreme weather, with temperatures anticipated to continue dropping in the coming days.
