'Never turn your back to the enemy, never lose an inch of land': Home Affairs Adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury urged the newly recruited soldiers of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to never turn their backs to the enemy at the border. He emphasized, "In defense of the motherland, you must be ready to sacrifice your lives if needed, but never allow even an inch of the nation's land to be lost."

He made the remarks as the chief guest at an event held on Tuesday (Dec 31) at the Border Guard Training Center and College, located at Baitul Ijjat, Chattogram.

Home Affairs Adviser said, "This force, widely known as the 'Sentinels of the Border,' has been performing the great responsibility of securing Bangladesh’s 4,427 kilometers of border, as well as safeguarding border land and resources, with immense strength and success."

"I want to believe that you will not disappoint or dishearten us. Remember, the impenetrable security you provide will ensure the peaceful sleep of the people of this country. You will be the symbol of security and trust for our border," he added.

The event was attended by BGB DG Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, senior military and civilian officials from the Dhaka, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar regions, as well as senior officials from the local military and civilian administration.
