1 killed, 15 injured in Dhaka-Mawa Expressway crash

A deadly collision involving seven vehicles, including buses, occurred early Sunday morning on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, amidst heavy fog.

The crash resulted in one fatality, and left 10 to 15 others injured.

The incident, which unfolded between Hashara and Chonbari in Sreenagar, Munshiganj, caused a traffic jam stretching over a kilometer. Emergency responders, including local fire service teams, quickly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations, while highway and local police worked to clear the congestion and restore traffic flow.

Hasara Highway Police Outpost Incharge, Abdul Kader Jilani, confirmed the details of the accident.

Due to dense fog, seven vehicles collided in succession around 6 am on Sunday, he said, adding that several individuals are in critical condition and are receiving treatment at local hospitals as well as other medical facilities for advanced care.
