Advisor to the BNP chairperson Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal said we want justice from this government; we want justice.

He said, "You have now arranged the chess pieces like chessmen to withdraw the countless false cases and political vendetta cases against us. The things like: If this happens, that will happen, and if that happens, this will happen. This is not justice. Justice is justice."

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a protest rally organized by the Bangladesh Democratic Council in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday.

The rally was held demanding the unconditional release of all political prisoners, including former ministers Abdus Salam Pintu, Lutfuzzaman Babar and former student leader Zakir Khan.

Moazzem Hossain Alal said, "Why are the countless cases against Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, including numerous leaders and activists, still not being withdrawn? No evidence has been found in the cases in which they’ve been sentenced. The biggest evidence of which is the leaders of the country like Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman themselves. Last AL regime accused Begum Khaleda Zia of transferring Tk 2 crore from one account to another. And for this, the judge who sentenced Begum Zia to 12 years was promoted to a judge within a week.”

The BNP senior leader said, "If we cry out to those who fled the country, who fled due to the rage of the people demanding to give us back our 16 years, it will not be of any use as they have nothing to give now. They (Awami League) rather want to take from the people of Bangladesh. But, those who have something to give, who are running the country today with the support of all classes of people, have stumbled in one place and hit the biggest stumbling block. That is the inability to reduce the price of commodities. The common people are now asking:"The Family or The reforms," as people are not even running their families now."
