Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Nahid Islam said, “Palestine is a place of passion for Bangladesh. Bangladesh has always been by the side of Palestinian's strugle for independence. For this, we started our activities through the March for Palestine platform on November 29, 2023. One of the inspirations for the July mass uprising was Palestinian people’s struggle to realize their rights.”
He said this when Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yusef S. Y. Ramadan came to visit him in the Secretariat on Sunday.
Nahid Islam said, “Palestine is an inspiration of our national unity. Bangladesh has always stood by the oppressed and persecuted people of Palestine. Bangladesh has always supported their rightful demands. We are in favor of the independence and sovereignty of Palestine.”
Ambassador Yusef S. Y. Ramadan told the advisor, "The arrival of people like you has occured when the people of Bangladesh have given up all hope. Everyone is looking at you. The people of the country want to trust you."
The people of Bangladesh are a stronger vocal for the rights of the Palestinians than many Muslim countries in the world. For this, he expressed his gratitude to the people of Bangladesh.
Nahid Islam expressed Bangladesh's continued support for the Palestinian state and its people. He expressed hope that Palestinians will get the independent state they desire.”
The ambassador said, "We sincerely wish the success of the current interim government as if the current government is successful, the people of Palestine will be strong. We want the interim government to be successful in fulfilling the dreams of the people."
The ambassador invited the advisor to meet with the members of the OIC Committee.
